New statistics show that the number of Influenza cases in the
Adelaide Hills are higher than the state average. Timely immunisation
remains the best way to avoid this debilitating illness.
Vaccinations are available at Council’s public vaccination clinics on
the first Thursday (at Stirling) and the third Thursday (at Woodside)
of the month for a cost of $20.00 (cash only). The vaccine is free for
those in high risk groups. No appointments are necessary. Please call
8408 0400 for further details.

Zero Waste SA has assisted Council with designing and printing new
waste and recycling collection calendars this year. Your new calendar
is enclosed with this newsletter. The calendars are in a booklet format
and provide useful information on how to use your bins and what items
should be placed in each to ensure maximum recycling and diversion of
waste from landfill is achieved.
The calendar aims to help residents determine the day to place their bin
out and which week recycling or greens (where applicable) is collected.
Your collection day has not changed and you should continue to place
your bins out on the same day as usual, however if you are unsure
about your collection day please contact East Waste on 8347 5150.
Council has introduced green bins to townships and urban areas only,
with all bins now delivered and collections underway. If you don’t have
a green bin, you are not in the green bin service area. Instead, you can
request a free green organics pass from Council by phoning 8408 0400.
Council also holds up to 3 free green organics drop-off days a year.
Please keep an eye on our website and the local paper to find out when
the next drop off day is due to occur.
