What is the Adelaide Hills Council Online project?
The Adelaide Hills Council Online project is responsible
for redeveloping Council’s website and introducing web
conferencing technologies into Council. The project will
also manage the introduction of video conferencing
technology at Council facilities and enable residents to
remotely participate in meetings via web conferencing
capabilities in the new portal.
Funding for the project has been provided through the
Digital Local Government Program.
What is the Digital Local Government Program?
The Federal Government has established the Digital
Local Government Program (DLGP). Funding provided
under the Program will assist councils representing
communities that first benefit from high-speed
connectivity (which the NBN provides) to improve the
quality and timeliness of local government services - in
particular to homes and businesses.
Project Benefits
The redevelopment of the website will improve the online
experience for our community and our staff in many ways,
particularly finding information easier and quicker. Staff will
spend more time on customer enquiries and concerns, as
the new website will reduce manual tasks.
Web conferencing
The introduction of web conferencing will allow greater
community engagement. People will be able to remotely
participate in Council Meetings and Community Forums.
Community Engagement, our Online Champions
Council will be working with business and community
stakeholders to ensure the website and conferencing
facilities meet our community’s needs. Stakeholders will be
selected to work with us on the design and functionality.
The project started in February 2013, and has an
estimated completion date of May 2014. If you would like
more information, please contact Dionne Collins, Adelaide
Hills Council Project Coordinator on 8408 0416.

The Adelaide Hills Council Online Project
Community Forums - a new
way to engage with the community
May 6 Community Meeting: What happened to Kenton Valley?
Look out for advertisements in
The Courier
newspaper, as well as online at
find out about upcoming
Adelaide Hills Council Community Forums. We’re introducing a new format, one which will improve communicating and
engaging with our community on a wide range of topics of interest. There will be a great many opportunities at the forums
for interactive discussion on emerging issues for Council and all members of the Hills’ community.
If you have an issue that you would like to present or discuss at a Community Forum, you are invited to register your
interest. The number of presentations or speakers at each Forum will be limited, so it is important to register.
We invite all members of the community to particpate at Community Forums, and encourage you to attend even if you - or
your interest group - does not have a particular item on the agenda. The Forums will be held throughout the year.
Did you know that the locality name of Kenton Valley has disappeared? A group of concerned residents is preparing a
submission to the Geographical Names Unit asking the State Government to officially recognise Kenton Valley again.
You’re invited to attended a public meeting to discuss the proposed boundaries for the Kenton Valley locality.
The meeting will be held at the Gumeracha Town Hall on Monday May 6 from 7:30pm.
This is an Australian Government funded initiative under the Digital Local
Government program.
