LOCAL SAFETY FORUM –

BANKSTOWN AND BASS HILL

Council has joined forces with local police to hold quarterly safety

forums across the City. The forums give residents an opportunity

to discuss current crime trends and safety issues, with feedback

contributing to the development of new safety programs.

The next forum will be held at the Bankstown Library and Knowledge

Centre on Monday 19 September (6–8.30pm) for people living in the

Bankstown and Bass Hill wards (see map on back page).

To register your interest in attending, call 9707 9794 before

Thursday 14 September. For more information, visit

BIG HEART APPEAL

Show how big your heart is this September

when the Heart Foundation’s annual Big

Heart Doorknock Appeal takes place across

the country.

Around 16,500 NSW volunteers will be collecting donations to help

raise vital funds for heart research and education programs.

Please give generously to support this lifesaving work and

everyday Australians affected by heart disease.

Make every bird count by heading out to your favourite green patch

and take part in BirdLife Australia’s Aussie Backyard Bird Count from

17–23 October.

Last year, more than 42,000 people throughout Australia joined the

count, including a number of local residents who recorded sighting

almost 3,000 birds across 68 species.
